LibertyHealth Announces Board Changes
The LibertyHealth System Inc. Board of Directors has chosen Lynn Schundler, an attorney and wife of former Jersey City Mayor Bret Schundler, to be vice chair of the board. Schundler has been a member of the LibertyHealth Board since 1997 and is active in many area social service programs.

The Board also chose Robert Margulies, a principal in the Jersey City law firm Margulies Wind, to be secretary of the board and a member of its executive committee. Margulies has been a member of the LibertyHealth Board since 2000.

As vice chair of the board, Schundler succeeds Rosemary T. McFadden, whose new responsibilities as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development for Jersey City preclude her continued membership on the board. McFadden, a member of the LibertyHealth board since 2004, helped lead the financial turnaround of the hospital system.

“The entire board thanks Rosemary for her dedication to the LibertyHealth hospitals and her leadership through the recent turnaround of the system,” said Brett Harwood, chair of the LibertyHealth Board. “Lynn and Bob have each shown a personal commitment to the continued vitality of the LibertyHealth hospitals and the board welcomes their leadership for the future.”

Schundler, who previously served as secretary of the board and chair of the bylaws committee, oversaw revisions to the bylaws of LibertyHealth System, Jersey City Medical Center and Meadowlands Hospital. She co-founded the Inter-religious Fellowship of the Homeless of Hudson County and founded and is president of the Lynn Schundler Foundation for Charities, Inc. In addition to her work with LibertyHealth, Schundler is a trustee of Hudson Cradle, Inc., a group home for boarder babies.

Margulies was active in the Wellspring Committee, the board committee that oversaw the recent turnaround of the system with financial consultant Wellspring Partners. He also chaired the board Pension and Audit Committee.
