LibertyHealth Announces Successful Resolution With
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey
LibertyHealth System today announced a resolution that will keep Jersey City Medical Center and Meadowlands Hospital in Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey’s (Horizon BCBSNJ) network of hospitals.

"We are pleased to reach a successful resolution with Horizon BCBSNJ that preserves patient access to our hospitals," said Stephen Kirby, acting President and CEO of LibertyHealth. “This resolution protects our patients who rely on Horizon BCBSNJ for their insurance to continue uninterrupted care. Our hospitals are known throughout the region for both the quality of medical care and their role as an indispensable part of the local health care system.”

"I am pleased that LibertyHealth and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey have reached a mutually agreeable conclusion to our negotiations," said Christy Bell, Senior Vice President, Healthcare Management, Horizon BCBSNJ. "This resolution will allow our members continued use of the hospitals as in-network facilities."

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

This resolution affects all Horizon BCBSNJ members including many Hudson County and Jersey City employees.
